Horticultural help at the Hare and Hounds
Keen gardeners ventured down to an Osterley pub to pick up tips from green-fingered experts on July 14.
Plant lovers paid £7.50 for tickets to the Hare and Hounds pub in Wyke Green, to get advice from two of London's top horticultural experts.
The evening's experts were Mark Wasilewski and Jim Buttress.
Mark is the park manager for St James' park and Green Park, a trustee of London in Bloom and vice-chairman of the judging panel of the Royal Horticultural Society Britain in Bloom campaign.
Jim Buttress VMH is the chairman of the Guild of Horticultural Trade Judges and the London Gardens Society. He was also the chairman of London in Bloom for 10 years, recently retired as chair of the RHS Britain in Bloom panel of judges and is the regular judge for the Fuller's gardens competition.
Oliver Warne, manager of the Hare and Hounds said: "We have a number of keen gardeners among our regular customers and this seemed like a great opportunity to help them improve their skills and pick up some handy tips.
"Being next door to a large garden centre, I'm also hoping to attract some new customers to the pub too. In addition, we've got a large beer garden at the Hare and hounds, So I'll be looking for some tips for me too."
