Golfing for charity

Parents and children supported by charity Home-Start Hounslow, gathered today to thank Osterley golf club for raising £4,380.

The money was raised throughout the year by Wyke Green Golf Club at various fundraising events.

A cheque was presented on Monday by the Syon Lane club captain, Andy Christou, at one of Home-Start Hounslow's family group meetings at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Hounslow.

Senior Co-ordinator, Margaret O'Connor, said: "Donations like this are so important because they go directly towards helping vulnerable local families.

'This money will be put towards equipment needed for family group meetings and an outing, such as last years trip to a children's farm, where our families can take a break from their day-to-day problems and spend some quality time together."
